You don’t need much in the way of equipment to get started. However, this will depend on the type of yoga you intend to practice. For example, if you intend to try hot yoga, you will have to find a studio with a hot yoga room!

Clothing: Yoga is low cost and low maintenance. Wear clothing that you find easy to move and stretch in. Stay away from clothing that is loose or heavy.

Mats: Most yoga is practised on non-slip mats. Most yoga studios will provide the mats, but there are tonnes out there to suit any yogi.

Music (optional): At a studio this will be provided, but if you want to practice at home you should try to find a playlist that puts you in the mood for relaxation and meditation but also won’t distract you from the physical challenges.
