With its high-speed game play and social atmosphere, volleyball is a perfect sport for both the team-sport lover looking for a new challenge as well as for the beach bum that needs to get on his or her feet. It doesn’t matter how old you are, how fit you are or whether you’re able-bodied or disabled, this is a sport that is inclusive and accessible - There is a reason it is one of the top three most-played sports in the world! It’s also the only high-energy, zero body contact, mixed team sport you can play indoors and outdoors - whatever your ability.

Like other team sports, volleyball is both intensely physical and involves strategic thinking. Whatever the level you play at, volleyball can enhance your social life as well as improving your fitness and coordination. And with new beach volleyball courts popping up around the country, there has never been a better time to dive in.

Volleyball England support an initiative called Go Spike, which helps people get into the sport by offering sessions year round all across the country.   Whether you have never played before or just looking for a refresher since you last played at school - or on holiday – these sessions provide the perfect opportunities to get into the game.
